B.MY.EYE

TORONTO-based Photography by B

B is a Toronto-based photographer, videographer, and art director. She sees photography as a way to turn ideas into images — making the abstract feel real and the everyday feel a little more magical. This series features her pinhole photographs of Canada, captured using handmade cameras crafted from cans.

If you’ve found one of them out in the wild, chances are that’s what brought you here. Please don’t touch, move, or remove the can — it’s part of an ongoing project.

Got questions? Feel free to give her a call. If you found a can, you have the number ;)

HOW DOES PIN HOLE CAMERA WORK?

A pinhole camera is a simple, lens-free container that uses a tiny hole to let light in and project an image onto photographic paper. It’s one of the oldest forms of photography — slow, minimal, and all about patience. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THERE BUT PHOTOGRAPHIC PAPER INSIDE A CAN WITH A HOLE.
